Based on Marvel Comics' legendary super hero Iron Man, this big-screen adaptation, by Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios, centers on Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor, who is kidnapped terrorists and forced to use his skills and knowledge to build a devastating weapon. Instead of complying with his captors' orders, however, he uses his intelligence and ingenuity to build a high-tech suit of armor, which he then uses to escape captivity. When he subsequently uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful suit of armor and sets out to protect the world as Iron Man.
